Singer, songwriter, minister, and psalmist Shantelle Hawkins began her music career in Jackson, Michigan at a very young age, trained under the tutelage of her anointed late Grandmother Evangelist Johnie Ruth Harrell.

 

Shantelle has laid and travailed on the altar for over 20 years to birth her music ministry career. God anointed her vocals and qualified her to produce an authentic sound that shifts the atmosphere. She is known as the “Fearless Prophetic Worshipper.”

 

In 2014 she launched her solo career with the CD entitled “In Pursuit of His Presence.” The CD features her husband saxophone recording artist Terence Hawkins.

 

Shantelle has traveled around the world sharing platforms and pulpits with many gospel greats; yet she retains a posture of humility.  

 

Since the release of her new album, Shantelle was selected to the first round ballot of the 1st Annual Key of Gospel Music & Ministry Awards sponsored by The Elite Gospel Music Academy of Dallas, Texas and made it on their final ballot.  Additionally, she was nominated in (6) different categories by the 2016 Rhythm of Gospel Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.  

 

Shantelle’s  music was selected to be played on many radio stations, including Pandora, a globally recognized online station. Shantelle and her husband were featured in artist spotlight  interviews on W.F.P.M. 99.5 FM - 99.9 FM - 103.7 FM gospel radio stations and 89.3 WHFR-FM national radio station in Michigan; and personally appeared in Detroit at the Prayze Factor People’s Choice Awards Show hosted by Teresa Jordan and in Florida on the Times of Refreshing TV Show hosted by James Cleveland Jones.

       

Shantelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Spring Arbor University. Shantelle is a faithful member of City of Zion Ministries serving as youth minister and praise and worship Leader. She is founder and executive director of Daughters of Promise, a faith-based teen pregnancy prevention and self- esteem non-profit organization for adolescent girls in Jackson, Michigan.
